The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site is one of eight in the country and is the world's richest hominin site, home to around 40% of the world's human ancestor fossils. Here you will have the rare opportunity to view the 2.3-million-year-old fossil Australopithecus africanus (nicknamed Mrs Ples) that was unearthed in 1947.
