Northern Territory Indigenous Tours
Northern Territory Indigenous Tours is a wholly Indigenous-owned, locally-based business offering specialized interpretation of the natural and cultural environment from an Aboriginal viewpoint. Tess Atie, business owner and head guide, grew up around the area now known as Litchfield Park and since becoming a park ranger, has begun teaching visitors the things she learned as a child. She has also trained a number of local guides who can deliver high quality, engaging and interactive tourism experiences and relate their stories and insights into Aboriginal culture, history and their connection with country. Tess has personal, cultural connections to Litchfield’s waterfalls and landscape features, and family connections to pioneering sites in the Litchfield area including Heritage-listed Blyth Homestead, Bamboo Creek Tin Mine and her grandfather’s sawmill camp at Woolaning Spring. So you’ll gain a very personal and unique insight into the history of this rugged and beautiful country. In addition to the popular day tours, there are personalized, extended touring options to more distant destinations in the Top End and outback including Katherine, Kakadu National Park and Daly River region.
