Room Information
Still, calm and lined in timber, The Hotel Britomart’s 99 rooms are beautifully designed retreats from the buzz of the city outside - while the highly crafted Landing Suites are the last word in next-level escapism.
The Hotel Britomart’s five suites are named after bays at The Landing, the luxury destination in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands (which, like The Hotel Britomart and the Britomart neighborhood, is owned by Cooper and Company).
Laneway Room
Thoughtfully laid out and sumptuously timber-lined, the cocoon-like Laneway Rooms overlook the laneway or face internally with a reading nook. Featuring Super King beds, built-in sofas and the handiwork of local ceramicists. Curl up under our 100% organic linen sheets, take a long shower using luscious Sans[ceuticals] hair and skincare products, browse the little selection of New Zealand books in every room, and generally luxuriate in a soothing sense of escape.
Galway Room
Galway Street is the plant-filled, pedestrian-friendly avenue at The Hotel Britomart's main entrance. The Hotel Britomart’s Galway rooms look across this idyllic little boulevard and the rest of the Britomart neighborhood towards the harbor. The timber-lined rooms are full of thoughtful touches, such as hand-made vases by local ceramic artists, beautifully tiled bathrooms, a little selection of New Zealand books - and built-in sofas from which you can spy on all the activity of the street.
City View Room
Auckland’s downtown skyline looks especially vivid with a foreground of the rooflines of Britomart’s historic warehouses as seen from our City View rooms. With beautiful timber linings and elegantly tiled bathrooms - not to mention Super King beds with 100% organic cotton sheets - you'll feel like you're floating above it all.
Takutai View Room
Takutai Square is the sunny public space at the heart of the Britomart neighborhood - and The Hotel Britomart’s Takutai View rooms have the best possible outlook on it. These corner rooms are timber-lined and full of natural light, with Super King beds and 100% organic cotton sheets, hand-made ceramics by local artisans, and a perfect little collection of New Zealand books.
Waitematā View Room
Auckland's glittering Waitematā Harbour has rarely looked better than from the comfort of The Hotel Britomart’s Waitematā View rooms. The beautiful timber-lined rooms feature hand-made ceramics, organic cotton sheets, loads of natural light and comfortable built-in sofas in which you can curl up and enjoy the views across the port to the harbor and the slopes of the North Shore beyond.
The Landing Suites
The Hotel Britomart’s five beautiful suites are named after bays at The Landing, the luxury destination in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands owned by Cooper and Company (the great minds behind the regeneration of the Britomart neighborhood and the creation of The Hotel Britomart). There are three suites on the top (10th) floor of The Hotel Britomart, and two in a sleek glass pavilion constructed atop the adjacent century-old Buckland Building (these suites are also accessed through the hotel). All the interiors are designed by Cheshire Architects in collaboration with Seattle’s Lucas Design Associates.
Wairoa Suite
The Wairoa Suite has views over the Britomart neighborhood towards the waters of the Waitematā Harbour from its bedroom and separate living area. As well as 58 sqm of luxurious comfort inside, it has a spacious, beautifully planted 27sqm terrace with city views.
Te Puna Suite
From the top of The Hotel Britomart, the generous bedroom and separate living area of the 45 sqm Te Puna Suite look across the Britomart neighborhood to the Waitematā Harbour, with Auckland’s North Shore in the distance.
Rangihoua Suite
The 65sqm Rangihoua Suite (pronounced rung-ee-ho-a) has views of the Waitematā Harbour and Takutai Square, the sunny public space at the center of the Britomart neighborhood. This suite also has a sunny outdoor 35sqm terrace with views of the city skyline.
Hohi Suite
On the roof of the heritage Buckland Building (with access from The Hotel Britomart), the 62sqm Hohi (pronounced hor-hee) Suite has loft-like dimensions and a living room with views over Takutai Square and heritage rooftops.
Poraenui Suite
Rooftop living at its best: The 74sqm Poraenui (pronounced poor-rye-noo-ee) Suite has lofty ceilings, glittering city views and a sunny 30sqm terrace tucked behind the pediment of the historic Buckland Building.
