The Blanket Bay Lodge sits at the north end of Lake Wakatipu against a backdrop of New Zealand's finest scenery and just forty five minutes from the world famous resort town of Queenstown, New Zealand's activity and adventure center.
During the gold rush of the 1860s, miners came to this place, seeking their fortunes, first at the Invincible Goldmine in the Rees Valley and later, at "Wyuna" itself, where there are the remains of over 20 sheelite mines.
